CHDS Bridge Course Minimize

Description
CMTs who earned their credential before the release of the current exam blue prints (before January 2011, with the exception of those who took the beta exam in fall of 2010), may choose to bridge over to the CHDS by taking this online continuing education bridge course. This course addresses the expanded healthcare documentation content found on the current exams but not covered under any previous CMT blue print. The bridge course is available only to current CMTs. Successful completion of the course requires the candidate to complete all content sections, including section quizzes, and pass the final exam at end of course. CMTs who pass the final exam and complete the course will earn the CHDS designation and will receive a new certificate. They will also earn 10 continuing education credits toward end-of-cycle recredentialing. Those who do not pass the course can opt to take it again after 90 days. Failure to pass the bridge course will not impact the status of a candidate’s CMT credential or their recredentialing cycle or recertification requirements.

CHDS Bridge Course takers will complete an 8-week, self-paced course that will include reading material and links to supplementary information for study along with practice questions for each of the following objectives:  1.22, 1.23, 1.24, 1.25, 1.26, 1.27, 1.28, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8. Course-takers must complete each end-of-section quiz and the final examination to successfully complete the course. Download the CHDS blue print objectives for Bridge Course.

CMTs are not required to bridge to the CHDS credential and have the option of retaining their CMT credential. Read details on our Rebranding the AHDI Credentialing Exams page and Frequently Asked Questions.
