I'm excited about starting my 2nd term as President of INKY. I have been in medical transcription since 1978 and have been a CMT since 2003. I'm not sure why it took me so long to become certified - probably fear of the unknown! During my transcription career, I have held various positions in various companies - MT, QA Coordinator, Transcription Coordinator, Hiring/Training Coordinator, Team Leader, and currently Supervisor at Northwest Radiology Network in Indianapolis, Indiana. On a personal note, I was born and raised in southern Indiana and have lived in the Indianapolis area for the past 8 years. I share my home with my husband, Jeff, and our 2 cats, Stick and Puck, who will both be 16 in January 2009 (our son was a hockey player when we rescued them, thus the names). We have one son, Justin, who is 28 years old and lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and three beautiful children. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and I truly love being "grandma" to my babies. My goals for INKY in 2009 are to keep the enthusiasm going and get more people involved. We've had great success in the past and I believe we can have it again. I'm looking forward to working the next year with a great INKY board and really hope to see more members - old and new - become more involved.
