Session Description
How often do you have great students who graduate at the top of their class but can't seem to land their first job? Do you ask yourself what you could have done better to help prepare that student?

This webinar is geared toward educators who want to learn more about what healthcare documentation/medical transcription company recruiters are looking for in a new hire so that you can better prepare students to successfully test for MTSOs. The presenter will break down testing objectives and what to expect on an employment test, along with some of the much-needed skills to succeed on the job. Let's get down to the "nitty gritty" on what it takes to not only pass those pre-employment exams but to help new graduates survive and thrive in those first few months in their new career.

Learning Objectives Include:
1. Testing fundamentals.
2. Skills needed.
3. What is takes to succeed in this career.

Presenter:
Mary has over 25 years of career growth in the healthcare documentation field. Most of her time is spent recruiting for both healthcare documentation specialist positions as well as technology/IT positions. She reviews all resumes and hand grades the skills assessment testing. Mary’s job is exciting and extends into virtual employee engagement projects, positive on-boarding processes, and social media recruitment. She has been instrumental in the development of unique virtual activities including MT Week activities, Halloween costume contests, holiday card art contests, and other innovative employee recognition programs. She loves to learn and pursue continuous learning opportunities, stays current in the field, and always makes room for volunteerism in her professional national and regional AHDI organizations.
