Dear Colleagues,

The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) along with the Tennessee Association for Medical Transcription are proud to offer a Regional Event called, “Documentation Integrity in the EHR” scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2007, in Franklin, Tennessee. This event will be held in conjunction with the final AHDI Board of Directors meeting for 2007. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all attendees to meet the AHDI Board of Directors, network with fellow professionals in the health documentation and health information technology sectors, and obtain vital continuing education credits in an exciting, informational environment with relevant topics and speakers.

To view details regarding the hotel, educational program and registration information, please view the Documentation Integrity in the EHR webpage (http://www.ahdionline.org/scriptcontent/NOV07RegionalMeeting.cfm).  Please take a moment to read through the “Documentation Integrity in the EHR” webpage.  There you’ll find links to the hotel, schedule and registration form, as well as an overview of what’s going to be happening at the event and which activities are planned.  All Tennessee state residents, AHDI members, Tennessee Association for Medical Transcription members, AHIMA members, THIMA members and MTIA members will receive Member Pricing for this event.

SCHEDULE
The schedule is shaping up to be an amazing program.  Antoine Agassi is our Keynote Speaker.  He is the Chair of the E-Health Advisory Board for the Governor of Tennessee.  He will be speaking about the Electronic Health Record, how it will soon be affecting your careers, and the challenges AND opportunities on the horizon for Health Documentation Specialists (Medical Transcriptionists) with this new technology.  We also have Bryon Pickard, MBA, RHIA, the President of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) who will be speaking about Health Information Management and the trends and concepts that make this sector move.  Also, we have the Executive Director from Care Spark (RHIO), Liesa Jenkins.  Liesa is leading the charge towards developing a technical infrastructure for health information exchange amongst healthcare providers in the Tennessee area, and can speak first hand about the EHR and how important it will be in the years to come.  Along with these individuals, we are currently solidifying more physicians to speak in the Clinical Medicine/EHR track providing us with the MD’s side of the story when it comes to the EHR and the future of healthcare.

NETWORKING
Not to mention the countless opportunities for networking with fellow HIM professionals and documentation specialists in the region during our Welcome Reception on Friday night and throughout our Vendor area where we’ll be serving a Continental Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday.  It isn’t often that we are able to offer an event of this caliber on a regional level.  This is an opportunity that doesn’t come that often, so take advantage of this special event’s accessibility and register today.

All necessary details can be found at the “Documentation Integrity in the EHR” webpage here: http://www.ahdionline.org/scriptcontent/NOV07RegionalMeeting.cfm
