I was just wondering why there are very few current posts on the Professional Practices Network in the past few years.  Thanks.

Mary, I think that some of the questions and discussion that would formerly have taken place here on PPN have migrated to other spheres -- for example, the AHDI Alliances (New Professionals Alliiance, Educators Alliance, Managers/Supervisors Alliance for example) on Google Groups.  Also, as the Book of Style has become very widely adopted, that resource has provided answers to some of the kinds of questions that people might have posted here in the past.  The BenchMark KB electronic resource also contains a very comprehensive FAQs section as well as an electronic version of the Book of Style, so the many (and growing numbers of) subscribers to the BKB would have less need to come to the PPN.  There's also the option for AHDI members to go directly to the organization, by email, to ask questions -- the disadvantage of that, of course, is that the answers don't get shared with others, which is a valuable component of the PPN.

We do get a steady influx of new members to the PPN, so it appears that MTs are still finding value in the PPN for both current questions and archived information, and new questions continued to be posted regularly, though at a slower pace than in former years.
