IT HIM/Technical Support Analyst 


Aside from the well-known opportunities as a health information technologist, there are many opportunities in healthcare informatics/healthcare management. These positions support healthcare applications, dealing with in-depth support of EMR systems. A specialist would contribute towards building, implementing, and maintaining an electronic health system.


Educational Requirements:

Generally requires completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree; also look for 2 or more years of relevant experience (preferred but not necessary). May consider an associate’s degree in a related clinical profession. There may be software companies willing to train individuals on the use of their EMR applications as well.


Experience/Skill Sets:

Good verbal and written communication skills, skillful at managing change, good problem solving/analytical skills, time management and prioritization skills; must possess some working knowledge of current healthcare technology. Identifying and troubleshooting PC issues. Be familiar with multiple systems within the same clinic (lab, x-ray, EHR).



Physician Liaison/Healthcare System 


Serves as a liaison between Health System, independent physicians and hospitals and hospital administration promoting our quality, services, technology, while building positive working relationships. Works in a highly collaborative team environment, provides general guidance for specific internal and external physicians and clients. Key responsibilities include participating in strategic planning, creating, and implementing business development programs and ideas in collaboration with service line leaders, Marketing, Strategic Planning & Development, Communications and Marketing, Patient Relations, Recruitment, and other entities in the system to develop and grow physician relationships and partnership with Health System. 


Educational Background:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, or related field, required.



Three years’ experience, outside healthcare sales or professional experience working with physicians, as a consultant, educator, or in other roles.


Healthcare Documentation Integrity Auditor/Coordinator 


Healthcare Documentation Integrity Coordinator acts as a lead team member providing assistance and/or education to healthcare documentation integrity auditors, healthcare documentation integrity auditor/educators and/or healthcare documentation specialists. Coordinators performs data analysis on audited results and assists in process improvement initiatives. Coordinator may perform documentation corrections and may communicate with clinicians. AHDI certification required (CMT or CHDS)


Educational Background:

High School Diploma or GED Required

Associate’s Degree or equivalent in terms of medical experience. Preferred

Other (Specify) Demonstrates continued educational credits in healthcare documentation/medical field Required.



Over 5 years’ experience with healthcare documentation in a large acute care facility and/or quality assurance work in a large acute care facility. Required. 3 years of experience in mentoring and instructing others. Required.


Healthcare Documentation Integrity Manager/Supervisor 


Healthcare Documentation Integrity Manager/Supervisor manages the activities of the integrity auditors and educators. Provides education and guidance to the team based on utilizing data analysis and audited results. Manages process improvement initiatives. May serve on various hospital committees such as Quality or HIM.  May work with physicians, other managers and C-suite executives on various hospital quality initiatives.


Education Background:

Healthcare Information Management degree or in related field preferred. Associate degree and equivalent experience required. Demonstrate willingness for continuing education.



Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a QA manager in a large healthcare organization. 


Supervisor Operations HIM or Transcription  


Supervises and oversees the daily activities of the Health Information Management department to ensure the delivery of quality services. Coordinates and monitors Health Information Management programs, policies and procedures and assumes the responsibility for ensuring that all programs are administered according to company standards and regulatory compliance.


Educational Background:

Health Information Management required.



Health Information Management supervisory or management required.   Experience working in a large healthcare organization.  

HIM Senior Analyst 


Trains and mentors health information management (HIM) staff.  Coordinates work flow.  Performs quality monitoring and participates in activities to improve outcomes for the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR).


Educational Background:

Associates required, Bachelor's degree preferred; RHIT/RHIA



5 years HIM experience preferred.
