NLB Candidacy & Election

NLB Election Process

The election for the National Leadership Board takes place on an annual basis. The National Leadership Board consists of 12 to 14 At-Large and District Directors with staggered three-year terms running September 1 to August 31. A call for candidates announcement will be sent to voting members with an outline of the election timeline each year. A candidacy packet can be requested by contacting:

Once the candidacy packet has been submitted, the packet is then sent to the Nominating Committee for review. The Nominating Committee will conduct a webinar interview with all individuals who have completed and returned the candidacy packet. Based on criteria set forth in the AHDI Bylaws and the Nominating Committee policies and procedures, candidates whose names will appear on the ballot will be selected by the Nominating Committee.

At-Large & District Director

  • Must be an Individual Professional member of AHDI in good standing for at least one year immediately preceding candidacy.
  • District Director candidates must run in the district where they legally reside and will be elected by the membership therein. (See "District Map")
