Dr. Richard Lederer, Usage Editor of The Random House Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language, author of The Write Way, and longtime contributor to AHDI publications, will offer a common-sense approach to grammar and usage with this two-hour workshop. Where do you stand on terminal prepositions, split infinitives, “hopefully” as a floating adverb, “impact” as a verb, and “they” as a third-person singular pronoun? These issues and more will be addressed, including an extended Q&A session with Dr. Lederer at the end of the workshop where you’ll have an opportunity to “ask the grammar expert” about everything from puns to punctuation, pronouns to pronunciation, and diction to dictionaries. Richard Lederer is the author of more than 30 books about language, history, and humor, including his bestselling Anguished English series and his current books, A Treasury for Dog Lovers and A Treasury for Cat Lovers.
