In today's quickly evolving world of health information technology, transcription organizations are often challenged with tough projects such as software installations or updates, new interfaces, hardware replacements, mergers and acquisitions, etc. When organizations implement something new, the goal is a more efficient and productive workflow with minimal impact to staff and quality of service. However, these projects often yield negative side effects such as resistance, confusion, and frustration that need to be acknowledged and addressed. Find out how any transcription organization, from the large hospital transcription department to the small transcription service company, can successfully navigate the change process so that negative attitudes are minimized and positive outcomes are maximized. Utterback will share ideas of how participants can influence their organizational culture and processes so change becomes a rewarding journey and not a scary destination.
