CE Credit: 1 MT Tools
Spelling and grammar are the arrows in the MT's quiver, and we need to sharpen them as often as we can. Mrs. Welch takes us on a humorous tour through common errors in spelling and punctuation and how to avoid them. The more medicine you know, the better a MT you'll be, and Mrs. Welch will delineate the anatomy, pharmacology, and history behind terms that deserve better at our hands.
Speaker Bio
Julia Kinsey Welch, CCS, came to medical transcription in 1978, when we were called "medical secretaries" when IBM Correcting Selectric typewriters and photocopiers were major advances over White-Out and carbon paper. She helped found the Capitol Chapter of AAMT, which has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and was its first President. As a traveling coder and abstractor for the past 15 years, she has observed transcription styles and trends nationwide. She is a Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout chaplain when she's not coding, abstracting, mothering and “wifing.”
