Great associations foster an environment where exchange of ideas and collaborative discussions are encouraged and facilitated. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find the right forum where opposing views can be shared in a respectful and productive way, so AHDI is trying something new to encourage healthy dialogue on key industry issues! Members are encouraged to attend our first-ever moderated, collegiate-style debate.
The Great Debate will address five hot topics, many of which have arisen out of this year’s Let’s Talk About open letter series from our Board of Directors. Each topic will be presented by both point and counterpoint opening statements, followed by timed debate from the floor and an audience poll. Attendees will receive a polling paddle upon entry to the session and will be encouraged to use this to express support of either the point or the counterpoint.
