In the quickly evolving world of healthcare documentation, change is constant. When you are considering something new for yourself or your organization, how do you determine if it is worthwhile? And once you commit and dive in, how do you evaluate the endeavor to show added value, and ultimately, success? Although transcription organizations typically view "return on investment" in terms of line counts and turnaround times, many other factors should be considered. Discover ways to demonstrate how investments such as new technology, education, marketing, and others can impact the value of the services you provide as both an individual and an organization. Gain insight on gathering and presenting information to "sell" an idea to yourself and/or others, as well as on monitoring and reporting on an active or completed project to show progress. Discuss challenges in making comparisons and showing trends that accurately reflect the shift from your original reality to a new reality. Identify indicators of success early, and you create a framework which enables much of the details, and the data, to fall into place.
