Come explore the elements of addiction, diagnostic criteria for abuse/dependence, the brain and how it works, family systems and how enabling contributes to the progression of the disease, and why chemical dependency treatment works. In addition, Dr. Golden will portray the multi-dimensional possibilities of medical terminology in the dictated medical record.
Speaker Bio
Dr. Golden is board-certified in addiction medicine, as well as internal medicine/oncology/hematology. After maintaining a private oncology/hematology practice for many years, he joined Betty Ford Center, where he currently oversees Inpatient Medical Services. Dr. Golden played an active role in Betty Ford Center’s transition to a paperless electronic medical record in 2010, which included implementation of computerized physician order entry (CPOE), electronic medication administration record (E-MAR), and HL-7 interface for transcription services. He also serves as physician liaison for the Quality Council, Medical Record Review Committee, and EMR Advisory Committee. Dr. Golden is a published playwright with several plays produced in Los Angeles theaters.
