Join us for the sixth annual Manager/Supervisor Workshop at ACE 2011. We will have tips and tricks to help you as a manager, and you will hear from industry leaders and experts who will share their experience and knowledge gained from extensive careers in healthcare documentation at all levels.
Session 1: QA Best Practices
This portion of the workshop will be an interactive panel discussion focused on implementing QA Best Practices and facilitated by Susan Lucci, RHIT, CHPS, CMT, AHDI-F. Panel members will include a variety of MTSOs and hospital-based managers/supervisors with a broad range of experience in their respective positions.
Session 2: EHR Future Roles
We would all like to find out more about where our industry is going and what the future holds for practicing MTs. Will there be opportunities for MTs to transition to other positions within healthcare documentation utilizing their medical knowledge and deep understanding of the healthcare documentation process? This section of the workshop, facilitated by Kristin Hagan, CPEHR, CPHIE, CPHIT, AHDI-F, and Sherry Doggett will focus on five different future roles that MTs are transitioning to in EHR environments throughout the country.
Session 3: Creative Compensation
Compensating MTs as they make the conversion from traditional transcription to speech recognition remains one of the biggest challenges faced by any organization making this transition. Often, the most popular assumptions when it comes to determining how to pay an MT who has transitioned to editing are not beneficial the organization or the MT. This interactive panel discussion facilitated by Lynn Kosegi, PMP, will explore the metrics that we need to watch as we consider the ROI of speech recognition and connect those metrics to MT compensation planning.
