This interactive presentation focuses on human development principles that pertain to lifelong learning, particularly of health professionals, with the ideal of affecting positive social change. The following questions are addressed: What human development principles shape attitudes, motives, and skill sets that are required for the adoption of lifelong learning practices in the 21st century? How can knowledge and application of human development principles promote continuing personal and professional development? How can knowledge and application of human development principles enhance continuing education programs? The learning pyramid, self-directed learning and self-reflection tips influenced by leading theorists guide this presentation. CE & Me objectives include equipping participants with information to guide personal and professional development, and to enhance lifelong learning practices, with the promise of bringing about positive social change.
Speaker Bio
Dr. White serves as a professor at a medical university, community college, and technical college. Her research and publications focus on continuing education for health professionals. She is also a certified medical transcriptionist and a fellow of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity. Dr. White has a diverse professional background including faculty and client development, administrative operations management, textbook and reference material editorial review, quality assurance, recruiting, and training in healthcare settings.
