Advocacy Summit

AHDI/MTIA presents the third annual Advocacy event May 15-17, 2008! Make your arrangements now to be a part of important events supporting the rapidly evolving role of the healthcare documentation specialist. In past years we have had over 100 attendees, and we look forward to an even greater presence on the Hill in 2008.

Registration

Register for this event using the online registration, or download a registration form for mail or fax use. You can either register for a single day or for all three days. MTIA members will need to call our Member Services line at 800-982-2182 to receive the discounted rate.

Timeline of Events

Schedule

Thursday, May 15 begins with a breakfast briefing at the Rockville, MD, hotel followed by a first timers orientation with Karen Fox, CMT, chair of the Legislative Issues Group. Individuals who are not new to lobbying will have free time to meet with their state legislators. After a day on Capitol Hill, we will meet back at the Crowne Plaza in Rockville, Maryland, for a debriefing and reception where members can share their experiences on the Hill.

Friday, May 16 attendees will have additional time to meet with their legislators on the Hill. In the afternoon we will have educational sessions for MTs to earn CEs.

Saturday, May 17 will be a day packed with educational sessions.
