AHDI Components

What is an AHDI Component?

An AHDI component association supports and promotes the goals of the association. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for networking, professional recognition, advocacy, and education at the grassroots level.

Networking

The component provides a venue where transcriptionists who have common skills or interests can assist each other with the exchange of information and the progress of professional growth. This is particularly valuable for the isolated at-home MT.

Professional Recognition

Those whose contributions to the profession are of great value or excellence are recognized for their achievements. The component association is also the cornerstone of association leadership, developing the talents and honing the skills of members who may become state/ local officers, delegates, or one day run for the AHDI Board of Directors.

Education

Component associations offer continuing education programs that assist with recertification requirements and provide transcriptionists with the knowledge and skills to enrich their professional lives.

Component Resource Center: The Resource Center contains a complete listing of each component service and benefits offered through the national office. Learn what the services are and how to access them.

Component Leadership Resource: Successful components are an integral part of AHDI, where so much of the networking and grassroots advocacy work of the association takes place. Empowering component leaders with the right tools and information to inspire and facilitate local and state/regional involvement is a core value of AHDI. To that end, this Component Leadership Resource is designed to provide tools, forms and information for managing an effective component, including insights and information related to association governance, managing component finances, meeting planning, leadership, mentoring, and advocacy.

CAST Tips: Component leaders and members will find an invaluable source of information and support via the Component Association Support Team (CAST). This team of component management experts exists to provide tips, information, guidance and support to AHDI components and their leaders. These CAST tips are designed to help components create dynamic member experiences and measurable outcomes in advocacy and professional development.
