House of Delegates
The House of Delegates is the principal representative body of the association empowered to establish
appropriate policies and procedures. The House of Delegates is comprised of one delegate from each recognized
State/Regional Association, plus one additional delegate for each five percent of the total Individual Professional
Membership of AHDI within that state/region as of June 30 of the preceding year. Members of the AHDI Board of
Directors are also voting members of the House of Delegates. The House of Delegates is considered the
representative body of AHDI association governance, ensuring constituent voice and representation in setting the
strategic direction of the association.

Component Associations
Component associations support and promote the goals of the national association. Their purpose is to provide
opportunities for networking, professional recognition, advocacy, and education at the grassroots level.
Components provide a venue where transcriptionists can exchange information and professional growth. The
component association is also the cornerstone of association leadership, where individuals are recognized for
contributions to the profession, which are of great value or excellence.
