Webinar: Work Professionalism and Communication: How to Deal with Difficult People

Friday, May 4, 2018

Presenter: Pat Bowen, CMT, AHDI-F
Date: May 8, 2018
Time: 1:00–2:00 p.m. Pacific/4:00–5:00 p.m. Eastern
CEC: 1 Professional Development (PD)

Session Description
No one likes feeling misunderstood or unimportant. Just as some personalities are well suited, others clash like the Titans. Some people are introverts and some extroverts—each of which thinks, feels, and acts differently than the other. Some people work together in the office setting, while others work remotely. Finding ways to bridge the gaps of timing, environment, and personality is important to building stronger relationships and lessen miscommunications. Learning new ways of communicating can disarm someone, spare hurt feelings, or help them feel valued. Likewise, it never hurts to self-reflect to find areas in which you, too, can improve.

Based on my many years of experience at all working levels, I will be sharing some tips on how to deal with difficult or confrontational people, how to provide a welcoming environment in which people feel encouraged and heard, and how to communicate more positively and more effectively in person versus through email. Join us for this webinar to learn how to speak from a "half-full glass" point of view rather than a "half-empty" one.

Learning Objectives

  1. How to write proper emails.
  2. How to deal with seemingly "irrational" people.
  3. How to evaluate your own personality and find areas to improve upon.
  4. How to deliver positive messages.
